GCC - Middle School

GCC Middle School for Years 7, 8 and 9, recognises this age group as a distinct developmental phase for students and hence requires a unique response.

Being the bridge between Primary and Senior schooling, Middle School aims to nurture, stimulate and challenge students. As much as possible, learning is made relevant to the lives of these students and the activity-based emphasis more adequately meets the need of this adolescent age group.

Students in Years 7 to 9 participate in:

  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • History Studies
  • Physical Education
  • The Arts
  • Information Technology and Media
  • Manual Arts
  • Home Economics

GCC Middle School students travel to Nambour Christian College (NCC), on Qld’s Sunshine Coast, for two weeks during Terms 1, 2 and 3 to join the curriculum program provided there. They join in with the NCC classes, excursions, make friendships and attend the NCC Outdoor Education Camps for their year level.

These visits offer the GCC students a boarding experience in preparation for their future Senior School years. They stay at the purpose-designed Normanton House on the NCC campus.
